Coral Minerals, Glacial Milk and Your Longevity

Mineral deficiency is a way of life for altogether too many of us. Most of us today just aren’t receiving adequate dietary supplies of calcium, magnesium, potassium or one of the other major and trace minerals.

Our soils are depleted. Our foods are processed, our dietary habits less than optimal; even medical drugs can deplete our body’s minerals.

For example, magnesium deficiency is common in people taking “potassium-depleting” prescription diuretics.

Meanwhile, most people eat well below the recommended amount of calcium; this is thought to contribute to the risk of osteoporosis, particularly in white and Asian women.

Yet, for each of us, our health is vitally dependent on optimal mineral intake. Our heartbeat, blood circulation, levels of glucose, sense of emotional well-being, joint health and immune defenses all depend on adequate mineral intake.

THE HEALING POWER OF CORAL MINERALS

Our macro-minerals include sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphate and chloride. The nine most well studied trace minerals required in small amounts are iron, iodine, fluorine, zinc, chromium, selenium, manganese, molybdenum, and copper.

While multivitamins supply some, if you’re serious about addressing your body’s mineral needs, you would do well to stress in your diet a mineral matrix supplement that includes easily absorbable forms of these minerals. Coral minerals rank as one of the most complete and easily absorbed supplements. There is also intriguing evidence that they can contribute to enhanced well-being and life extension.

Dr. Roy Walford, M.D., one of the leading experts on anti-aging and longevity, reports in his book The 120-Year Diet that, besides a diet rich in whole grains, vegetables and fruits, some of the longest-lived cultures (e.g., the Hunzas in India) consume mineral-rich glacial waters known as glacial milk. Consuming mineral-rich water is thought to contribute (in part) to the traditional longevity of the Okinawans.

In fact, we would prefer to use the term coral minerals instead of coral calcium when we discuss this unique natural product. When the best coral calcium products are purchased, you receive some 74 major and trace minerals, including 25 minerals that are essential to human health. What’s more, coral minerals are organic in the sense that an animal has previously digested them. It is very difficult for the human body to digest inorganic minerals (similar to eating little rocks), another reason for our not wanting you to rely solely on multivitamins. Having been previously digested by the coral polyp, coral minerals are readily absorbable by the human body.

Coral minerals also possess the natural ability to go ionic upon contact with moisture. Ionic means that these elements gain or loose electrons producing a positive or negative charge; in a sense, they are much more energetic and more likely to pass through cell membranes. This change in charge increases the attraction between the minerals and the oppositely charged receptors.

Coral is naturally synergistic with the human body. This is clearly shown by the medical practice of using pieces of coral in bone graphs. Orthopedic surgeons use coral in bone graphs because the body readily accepts the coral and the various muscles and tendons grow into the coral structure as if it were actual human bone.

CORAL MINERALS & HEALTH

Health experts say that 157 diseases are caused by mineral deficiency. If you want to see what a full-spectrum mineral matrix can do for your health—in particular, if you have osteoporosis, desire to maintain a smooth heartbeat, and support your immune system— eco-safe, above-sea coral minerals are such a smart choice.

You receive specific benefits, but what’s more important is the all-around improvement in your health status that you will experience with coral minerals.

Let’s look at some of the latest research findings:

It shouldn’t be surprising that coral minerals can lead to improved heart and circulatory health. Coral minerals are an especially rich source of calcium and magnesium, predigested, ionic and organic for excellent absorption. K. Ishitani, M.D., of Higashi Sapporo Hospital, and co-researchers recently reported on the use of coral calcium among some 20 of their patients for three months to support healing for a variety of common health challenges.

The patients experienced improvements in their bone density, a seven percent drop in total cholesterol (with increased levels of beneficial high-density lipoproteins and lowering of triglycerides), and a tendency towards normalized blood pressure.

Further benefits were seen with fewer bouts of headaches and muscle spasms, reduced incidence of abnormal heartbeat, and less swelling of the limbs, as well as improved well-being (including lessening of anger and anxiety).

Think about it this way. Many studies now show that anger and hostility increase your risk for a heart attack. Coral minerals have demonstrated a profound ability to promote inner relaxation. This is not only due to calcium and magnesium, but probably also from supplying amounts of trace minerals such as lithium. Dr. S. Sugimoto of Aichi Syukutoku University gave approximately 1.5 grams coral calcium in water to one dozen students and then measured their relaxation levels with an electroencephalogram (EEG). The students experienced a significant increase in their relaxation-related alpha-1 and alpha-2 wave activity on the EEG compared to those given only tap water.

Dr. Ishitani followed up this work with another study with eight diabetes patients who were given 2.8 grams daily coral calcium. Within three months, half of the patients showed better blood sugar control. Again, these patients probably benefited from the many major and trace minerals in coral calcium. For example, chromium is important in carbohydrate metabolism. Zinc is one of the chemical constituents of insulin.

Professor N. Tominaga of the Department of Medical Zoology of Saitama Medical School divided rats into two groups, each receiving a similar diet, except that one group received normal tap water, whereas the other group received alkaline ionized water, prepared by treating tap water with coral calcium. It is striking to note that the group that received coral water had on average a much longer life span.

While none of these studies offers ironclad proof of a longevity effect of coral minerals in humans, this is all very promising.

HOW TO FIND A GREAT CORAL MINERAL PRODUCT

Coral ComplexEcoPure Coral PowderCoral Complex from Coral Inc. was the first (1999) powdered coral capsule product in the United States. With the addition of vitamin D3, this formula has become the most popular and successful coral capsule formula in the nation.

Eco Pure Coral from Coral Inc. consists of 100 percent pure coral powder. Nothing has been added to the coral. The coral powder is extremely fine. So fine, in fact, that a small amount on the tongue simply absorbs through the mouth; one does not even need to swallow.

Availability — Both Coral Complex and Eco Pure Coral are available at many health food stores nationwide.
